Heart Failure is emerging as a public health problem in the country. The five -year mortality of nearly 60% as reported in the Trivandrum HF registry is higher than many common cancers. The registry data has shown us that guideline directed therapy is prescribed only to 25 – 40% of patients with heart failure, indicating that there is a significant scope for quality improvement initiatives among the treating physicians. One of the ways is to have continuing educational programs to increase the awareness about the disease burden and the importance of evidence-based therapy. As large number of heart failure patients are treated by physicians, HFAI decided to conduct an online course on heart failure. This 6 weeks structured course is supported and endorsed by the Heart Failure Society of America. The renowned HFSA faculty will be joining with the country’s leading HF specialists in the course.
